Recommendation App
Vistas was created to recommend New York’s historic sites to travelers and those interested in historic sites. Vistas in Spanish means “location.” Black and white, vintage images were used to invoke the historical feeling in the app. Inspired by the historical map and old books, colors and font were selected accordingly.
Competitive Analysis
I started the process with research and looking at different products that are doing similar things. there were enough to learn what is possible. After looking at these examples I decided on what I should and what I shouldn't do with this product.
Persona
Through researching various recommended apps, I was able to provide the needs of users for recommended apps and find out the pain point. For this project, designing a recommended app that fits the needs of my customers can get their needs through conversation with my customers.
Site map & User Journey
I wrote down all the goals of this product and divided them into sections for the sitemap. Not all these sections ended up being on the product but it was a good way to organize my thoughts. This then led me to create user journeys for users.
Design challenge
How can I effectively recommend historic places in New York to Argentine students who love historic places? I drew inspiration from fonts and colors used in historical maps and old books.
Wire Frames
I changed my low fidelity sketches digital and added more solid placements and typography to make it medium fidelity and prepared my designs to be tested which explains app's function
