My Captain! Editorial, 2020



This typebook specimen utilizes Caslon typeface to illustrate the poem “O Captain! My Captain!” by Walt Whitman. The poem mourns the death of American president Abraham Lincoln. Three metaphors-death, gun, and gravestone-are used to represent the poem’s mourning mood. Further, white, red, and black colors were used to represent the solemn atmosphere.
